CinéFête’s mission is to enrich the learning experience for all ages by providing challenging and diversified documentaries from independent producers around the world that address the key issues of our society
CinéFête, an open window on the world.
In October of 1990, Paul Maltais created CinéFête with Rock Demers, the Canadian producer of the well-known children’s film series “Tales for All / Contes pour tous”. In 1994, Paul became sole owner continuing his mission to provide broadcast quality multi-language films to the non-theatrical market across Canada.
Since the early 2000s, CinéFête has expanded its client base to the United States and Europe. Today, it counts among its regular clients several Ministries of Education, the Grande bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and many English and French language school boards and post-secondary institutions.
In addition, CinéFête’s collection has grown to over 1500 titles in English and over 3000 titles in French, providing the most complete French catalogue from independent producers in North America.
CinéFête is proud to be representing renowned production companies such as Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and Centre national de documentation pédagogique (CNDP) as well as over 100 leading independent producers in Canada, Europe and Asia: Pixcom International, Zone 3, InformAction, Vic Pelletier Productions, Shootfilms Inc., Macumba Films Inc., Mediacorp and many others.
Technology in education is undergoing major changes and CinéFête understands the need to continue providing its clientele with the tools necessary to enhance the learning experience.
